Fireworks night in Sister Bay! We will Segway all a-glow to mingle with the mere mortals on foot.

Our glide begins in the upper stretches of the village, where we’ll pass by beautiful cherry orchards before heading into the downtown area. We’ll make our way to the marina and beach, where you can soak up the sun and take in the stunning views of the water. Whether you love people watching or being in the spotlight yourself, this tour is the perfect outing.

Lasting 1.5 hours, this Segway experience is a great way to get familiar with this fun and innovative mode of transportation. And for those who book the tour during the daytime, you’ll be treated to a heartwarming view of the sunset over the water.

Meet

Make your reservation ahead of time and we meet at the starting location of the tour.

Train

The Segway PT trainer trains each participant one at a time on the Segway PT.

Practice

After being trained, it is best to practice your stops and turns in order to learn to trust the Segway (TRUST is the key). So far, this has taken about 2 – 25 minutes depending on the size of the group (there is always at least a 1:9 ratio between guides and FUN SEEKERS)

What is the maximum number of people allowed on a tour?

The tour size is kept at 8 people unless there is one group booking together. However, if there are more than 8 people in your group, you must call to book as we have more than 50 Segways available.

Do you have to have GOOD BALANCE to ride a Segway PT?

No. You just have to TRUST the Segway and it will balance you. Don’t worry, we don’t expect you to trust the Segway at the very start but trust will come.

Why don’t you have the location on your website for where we meet for our tour?

We don’t want people to show up for their tour without a reservation because we will not have a Segway for you. When you make your reservation we give you the meeting location (or look at this link to see all our tour meeting locations).

Will I be trained on how to use the Segway?

Yes, we start with a training session that lasts between 10 to 30 minutes depending on group size and comfort level. As soon as everyone is comfortable, we take off!

What should I wear?

Best to wear comfortable shoes. Also, it is always a little cooler on the Segway.

Do I have to wear a helmet?

You will be provided a bicycle helmet free of charge. You may bring your own helmet if you wish.

What happens if it rains?

We will provide rain ponchos but you may cancel (with a full refund) or reschedule in case for rain.

Can I take pictures during the tour?

Yes, you can take pictures during the tour, and your guide will also take pictures for you. You will be provided with a link to the photos soon after the tour, and it's completely FREE.

Do we stand the whole time?

No, for most tours, there is one stop where we get off the Segway to rest our feet. As tours are in small groups, we can also stop as desired for the group.

Can I bring a bag or purse with me on the tour?

Yes, there is a handlebar bag for items.

Is it necessary to make reservations in advance?

Yes, it is necessary to make a reservation ahead of time as we transport the Segways to the tour locations and need to know in advance how many guests are participating. To increase your chance of getting your preferred day and time, it's recommended to book well in advance, which can be done online or over the phone.

Are there booking fees?

Tax and booking fees added to the price of the tour.

What are the age restrictions to do a tour?

Although riding a Segway is relatively easy, we require that all riders be at least close to 11 years of age (you know your child best. An adult or guardian must accompany children under 18.

What are the weight restrictions to ride a Segway?

There are no weight restrictions for our tours but a person must be comfortable on their feet and not have issues climbing stairs without assistance. It is best that the participant is at least close to 70 lbs. or more.

What are the physical requirements to ride a Segway?

Riders should have the ability to climb and descend stairs without assistance. Anyone who is exceptionally overweight, or physically infirmed, (not having the ability to climb upon and stand on the Segway PT for periods of time) should reconsider doing this tour.

Is the tour suitable for pregnant women?

No, pregnant women are not allowed to ride on the Segway PT for safety reasons. There is a possibility that you would fall.

Can a younger child ride with a parent/adult?

No. The Segway is designed for one rider. In many cases, you can rent a bike for them to bring them along.

Can I rent a Segway?

We don’t just rent a Segway PT but if you have a specific place you would like to go please call us and we can design a tour especially for you or send a tour guide to accompany you at a location of your choice.

Are Segways available for private tours and other events?

Yes. We love to “Come to You” with our Segways.

Tours usually start about one hour before sunset. It can also be booked in the daytime. We are flexible to meet your schedule.

100% REFUND IN CASE OF RAIN OR BAD WEATHER. The Segway has no problem with the rain but we understand if you do! Tours go out in light rain but can be canceled or rescheduled. Please call 920-376-0256 to change or cancel your tour.*

We had a great time! My wife and I had been on segways before but the other two that were with us had not. My wife's sister was very nervous and apprehensive about it. Once she found out they are not that hard to ride, she had a blast. It was hard to get her and my wife to slow down to stay with the group. A fun time was had by all.

More fun that adults should be allowed!!! We had guests arrive from Michigan and decided to take them for a Sister Bay Sunset tour with Segway Door County and tour guide Genna. What an amazingly fun trip. After basis safety and operation training we were off and cruising like seasoned professionals. They are far easier to operate than you expect. We had the most amazing sunset over the harbor and plan to do other Segway tours this summer and fall.

This was a supurb activity for our group of 6. The ages of our group ranged from 15-69 and this was fun for everyone. Grandpa was a speed demon and loved being able to cruise around effortlessly. The teens loved learning to drive the segways. We book one day in advance to be sure we would be able to get our group in together on a tour. The tour guide was wonderful and showed us some great sights around Sister Bay.

I wanted to treat my mom to something unexpected for her birthday. I had done a Segway tour through Glide NEW in Green Bay with curling friends and had so much fun I knew my mom and I would have a great time - I should mention that I also brought along my 11 year old son. I chose the sunset tour in Sister Bay. Nick met us at the athletics fields and showed us the ropes. We were able to tool around the parking lot to get used the the Segways and go over the safety information. Then we were off. I have been coming to Door County since I was a kid and we took roads I had never been on. I loved the route. We continued on to the main drag of Sister bay and Nick shared fun facts and history of the area. He was great at checking in to make sure we were all doing good and coming along. The Segways are so intuitive and fun. Don't worry about looking dorky or silly, it's such a fun time. We saw the sunset and made it back to our meeting place just in time for the rain to start. Nick was so accomodating, he stayed in touch when the weather was iffy and so flexible in the event we wanted to cancel or reschedule. I am so glad we decided to play it by ear. My mom and son both wanted to keep going.

My husband and I had a tour with Barry last week. It was both of our first times riding a segway, so we were a bit uncomfortable at first, but Barry worked with us until we felt comfortable and was very cool with us going at our own pace. We enjoyed the Sister Bay tour and would recommend to others.
